Pastor, Have You Heard About Transporters For Jesus…

For many years now, I have heard about a ministry carried out by Brother Arnold Worley, and his wife, Wanda. They live in Marion, North Carolina and are members of Temple Baptist Church where Gerald Stines is the fine pastor. This ministry, of course, is Transporters For Jesus!

Who Are The Worley’s?

Brother Arnold and Sister Wanda will have been married for 40 years this coming February 2011. They have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. Arnold was saved on October 31, 1970 and Wanda has been saved for 50 years! To God be the glory!

What Is Transporters For Jesus?

This ministry was birthed into the heart of Brother Arnold in 1996 while taking a load of lumber to a missionary in Mexico. Understanding the need to help God’s servants carry out their calling by doing practical things like moving supplies, etc., Transporters For Jesus was born.

James 2:15-16 states, “If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?”

To Brother Worley, it is all about helping the missionary or pastor get what they need to the field. They just want to help people of like faith to carry out the work of God. Whether it is moving someone to a new pastorate, or bringing a missionary’s belongings to a sea port to load onto a container for shipping to a remote part of the world, Transporters For Jesus is there!

How Are The Worley’s Supported?

The Worley family has been with Prayer Baptist Missions International since 1998. They are supported like any other missionary that you might know about. This monetary support helps them in many ways. They operate off of love offerings to cover expenses, but I can personally assure everyone, that you will not find a better deal than that!

What Are Some Highlights Of This Ministry?

To date, Transporters For Jesus has made around 600 moves since their inception in the middle 90’s. Though all of their moves are memorable, one stands out! While helping a church in Manhattan during September 11, 2001, they had the privilege to bring a shipment of Bibles. “It seemed everyone wanted Bibles!” Brother Worley stated.

Personal Testimony:

Just recently, my family moved to Blair, Nebraska, to start an Independent Baptist Church, from Winston,-Salem, North Carolina. We could not have found any better movers than the Worley family. They showed up on time and labored with us to get things loaded. Great personal care was given to every piece that was placed on the trailer. It meant so much to this family to have a part in our ministry that they were seen many times with tears in their eyes! I wholeheartedly recommend Transporters For Jesus!

54155: Revival Revival

By Martyn Lloyd-Jones / Crossway Books & Bibles

Revival is the lifeblood of a vital church. Without the fervor revival brings, the church cannot accomplish its mission in the world. Yet today’s church is rife with apathy. How can revival be rekindled? Clearly and forcefully, Dr. Lloyd-Jones describes the circumstances which produced past revivals, discerns why each generation needs revival, and shows how revival will come about today. 316 pages, paper from Crossway.

17 Facets To A Principled Pastor

Diamond :: Locality: Crater of Diamonds State ...Image via Wikipedia

Life with no principles is like a road with no lines or signs. Without precepts to guide us along, we will end up in a wreck or ditch in no time at all. Deep down inside, we know we need regulation to help us, but we rarely admit this. For a pastor,or any spiritual leader, principles are especially needed. We must lead by example!

Listed below are 17 nuggets of old fashioned wisdom I found years ago while digesting a book entitled Road To Revival by Vance Havner. These quotes come from page seven of the book. (No copyright was given)

17 Facets To A Principled Pastor:

#1 – Remember that labor is one of the conditions of our existence.

#2 – Time is gold; throw not one minute away, but place each one to account.

#3 – Do unto all men as you would be done by.

#4 – Never bid another to do what you can do yourself.

#5 – Never covet what is not your own.

#6 – Never think any matter so trifling as not to deserve notice.

#7 – Never give out that which does not first come in.

#8 – Never spend but produce.

#9 – Let the greatest order regulate the transactions of your life.

#10 – Labor, then, to the last moment of your existence.”

#11 – Keep good company or none.

#12 – Never be idle.

#13 – If your hands cannot be usefully employed, attend to the cultivation of your mind.

#14 – Always speak the truth.

#15 – Make few promises.

#16 – Live up to your engagements.

#17 – Keep your own secrets if you have any.

Conclusion

As you can surmise, we must be sure to acquaint ourselves with this list from time to time! If every pastor and church member practiced only a fraction of this list, then we would have revival!

29056: Why Revival Tarries Why Revival Tarries

By Leonard Ravenhill / Bethany House

Leonard Ravenhill’s call to revival is as timely now as it was when first published over forty years ago. The message is fearless and often radical as he expounds on the disparity between the New Testament church and the church today. This book contains the heart of his message, A.W. Tozer called Ravenhill “a man sent from God” who “appeared at (a) critical moment in history,” just as the Old Testament prophets did. Included are questions for group and individual study.

Why We Can Trust God

This outline helps every believer to remember that no matter what they face in this life that they can trust the Lord! We draw our proof of this as we examine some of the ramifications of the sixth of Jesus’ seven cries from the cross.

Title: “Why We Can Trust God!”

Text: John 19:30 Read from verse 16 through 37

(John 19:30) “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”  (KJV)

Introduction:
•    We find in our text verse (#30) Jesus’ 6th of seven cries from His cross.
•    The three little words, “IT IS FINISHED” are an entrance into a mountain range of truth about what Christ did for us!
•    Much could be said about this text. Time simply will not allow us to explore all that we could.
•    I do want to pull a golden nugget from the application of this verse!

Transition:

•    When I read this text, I find a nugget of truth of the fact that I can trust God!

Proposition: There are numerous reasons I could share as to why we can trust God, but we will only mention three.

I.    Our Text Teaches Us That God Is A Man Of His Word!

(Titus 1:2) “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;”  (KJV)

A.    All of the OT types that prefigured Christ are fulfilled. All of the OT prophesies are fulfilled. All of what was promised in Christ’s coming is fulfilled!

(Daniel 9:24) “Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.”  (KJV)

B.    Jesus, God Lamb, took away man’s sins as John the Baptist proclaimed.

(John 1:29) “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”  (KJV)

II.    Our Text Teaches Us That God’s Way Of Salvation Is Completely Effective!

A.    What Jesus did was enough and need not be looked at as just a portion or a small part of man’s redemption. It is completely sufficient enough to effectively save a man and fit him for Heaven.

B.    It is so effective that it is the only means of redemption and Salvation!

(John 14:6) “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”  (KJV)

(Matthew 7:13-21) “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”  (KJV)

C.    In the verses we just read we see that Jesus took great pains to make it plain that we should come the right way to God because of the false witnesses of the truth!

III.    Our Text Along With Our Salvation Experience Proves To Us That We Can Trust God For Anything!

A.    I believe that being saved it the absolutely most important need anyone has.

B.    If we can reside in the harbor of God’s effective salvation, through the work of Jesus, then we can trust Him for anything!

(Proverbs 3:5-6) “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”  (KJV)

Conclusion:
•    Be saved!
•    Trust God!
